Great article, Diesel. Today, I was attempting to fix-it-myself with the old, dead Electrolux vacuum cleaner I inherited from my Grandfather. So far, I can tell that the problem is electrical, but haven't yet isolated precisely where the problem is. I'll tinker some more until I am certain that it's a lost cause.
I also plan on seeing if I can fix my dead air-conditioner window unit before Spring and Summer arrive. DIY and fixing things yourself is a worthy Survivalist pursuit for anyone, whether in the city or in the country.
