Never thought of posting here, but my source has dried up for the time being. I am looking for .38 S&W ammo, like the title says! Also known as .38 Short S&W. It is NOT the same as .38 Short Colt, even though some people seem to think it is.
Reloads would be fine, I would be interested when he gets some done up. Let me know, thanks!
I did find some on the Sportsman's Guide site, but they are about double what I am used to paying...prefer not to do business with that company anyhow...
I'd PM Rusty; if my memory is correct you can shorten 38Spl cases and load as you would 38S&W. I think you would need 38s&w dies to crimp the case mouth. You MIGHT find an OLD Lee Loader in 38S&W if you search the web/Ebay

reloading is easier than canning veggies IMHO but I know where you are comming from!
I have a Colt Commander in 30 Luger, I bought a bx of ammo and stuck em both away, it was easier and cheaper than converting it to fire 9mm.
But on the subject of appropiate self-deffense rounds I think 38S&W is towards the bottom of the list.
Rusty used to reload commercialy so I would still PM him for advise.

Roger that, oh it's not for defense, I collect Harrington and Richardson and Iver Johnson revolvers, as I grew up close to where there factories were. I have a few that are nice enough to be shooters, the .38 S&W being the largest caliber. I just like to shoot it a couple times a year.
AHHHHHH!
I wish there was a conversion unit I could point you to but the only thing I can think of is to seat new primers and place an appropiate (35 cal) round lead ball on the case mouth. Still, I would suggest you persue a way to reload the cases you have as the factory ammo will surely dissapear this year.
