You BOB should reflect the needs of the geographical terrain you are in and the temperature fluctuations in a 365 day period. I live in an area where the temperature goes from -50F to +95F in 365 days, it would be silly of me to put together a kit that I could only use during the summer months. Everyone's requirements are different.

Everyone's requirements are very different. Here, we have 2 springs that flow year round nearby; to some a supply of drinking water would be a concern, but not us.
Folks need to plan for where they are located and not where we or anyone else are located.

Unfortunately I have met people that are not willing to put effort into looking what their personal needs are and will just copy the list someone else uses, or you have those that preach one piece of kit religiously that might work in Maine, but would be of far less use in Eastern Montana.
