  • Hughsnet Satellite Internet System

I have a Hughsnet Satellite Interenet System that I no longer need. I used it when I lived on a ranch where we had to use radio phones. I now have DSL and will consider any offers or swaps. It has the dish, modem and cables to hook it up. You will have to subscribe to Hughsnet for service. The service is quite a bit higher in cost than a DSL connection in town but if you have no other option it works well. If anyone is interested in swapping for it drop me a line.

Sounds cool, but you should really go to the introductions post and introduce yourself before posting stuff for sale...

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to
beat you to death with it because it is empty.

The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.

yes, that is standard protocol, coming here and posting something forsale as your first post is considered rude
WHAT IF THE AMERICA YOU KNEW, WAS ABOUT TO CHANGE?

The best thing you can do to support the site is pass it on to your friends and fav sites like other forums, facebook, twitter etc. Let people know about us! :)

        Sorry For Breaching Protocol

I apologize for breaching official Xcolony protocol. I am a contributing member of a couple of other preparedness forums and have been monitoring this one for a while. It interested me because there are members here from my part of West Texas. I only put the satellite system up because I am thinking about tossing it out if noone wants it. It has been in my shed for over a year. I had planned on introducing myself and posting some of the information I have shared on the other forums but just have not had time yet. I did not mean to offend the sensibilities of the members of this board or violate the official protocol. I assumed that the main purpose of the forum was for the disemination of information and mutual support. My mistake. I hearby rescind my posting and off to the dumpster it goes.

No need to delete it, just we like to know who we are dealing with, before they put up stuff in the for sale forum.

Welcome to the forum and I hope we will see more of you in the future :) Semper Fi :)

Seems a shame to pitch something out that still may be of use to someone...

We have a similar Hughesnet system. Unfortunetely, I can't give my first one away, even to the sat guy. He syas they won't even hook you up to it now if it's even a year old because all the tech has changed.

Don't throw those old dishes away just yet. I am getting ready to experiment with one for local HDTV signals. I am removing the LNA/LNB (feed) and replace it with a coiled wire head for UHF TV signals. I'll keep ya'al posted.
